The first time I ever heard of Tumblr was when I was in 7th grade. But back then I really didn't bother to get involved with it because I was too busy collecting comics.
I was just as obsessed with fashion and style as I am today. I would browse fashion blogs and websites like Stylebubble, Stylerookie, The Sartorialist etc. for hours on end.
Flash forward to 9th grade and I end up setting up my own Tumblr page. And being the hormonal teenager that I was back then, I would stay up till 4AM just going through random tumblr websites; my pupils fully dilated and my mouth foaming. What usually followed such days would be me having a migraine for the rest of the week or so.
While on my many adventures on Tumblr, I had discovered pastel hair and being the street style fanatic I am, I instantly fell in love. I started to discover all these cool people like Audrey Kitching, Misha Janette and Chloe Nørgaard. And the clothes they wore were so stylish and yet in a way very 'anti fashion.' That's how I came across cool brands like UNIF, Tokyo Bopper and Spank. These brands really resonate with me because the clothes they produce are so witty and whimsical. The tie dye prints, the angsty messages, ripped jeans, studded jackets and combat boots are just perfect. I feel like those are clothes that PERFECTLY fit and angst filled yet happy-go-lucky individual teenager such as myself.
