NYFW: RICHARD CHAI SPRING 2015 RTW

Mr. Chai opted for a very laid back and relaxed look for this season's Spring 2015 Ready To Wear collection which happened to combine both male and female looks, and also happened to mark the label's 10th anniversary. There was quite a lot of layering going on and shorts paired with boots which is what gave the collection its element of comfort. Fabrics included satin and metallics as well. There was a deliberate carelessness put into the show from the way the models were dressed and slightly slouched to the disheveled and unruly hair and the minimal makeup. Trenches were also seen throughout the show and even though I know that may sound a bit off for summer, but there's bound to be the occasional summer breeze and downpour right? You get me gurl? Colours seen mostly included soft pastels cools blues and some bright greens as well. All in all it was a very quintessentially 'New Yorker' and laid back look.

NYFW: ZIMMERMANN SPRING/SUMMER 2015

Zimmerman was all about the shimmer and ruffles this season. Fabrics like silk and lace were used throughout the collection to create looks that were ultra girly but at the same time had a tomboyish edge to them. Feminine and flowing dresses (some paired with utilitarian vests) along with pant suits is what gave the collection it's mix of both feminine and masculine vibes There was an element of layering going on but since it was done with light and soft fabrics it did not look heavy at all. The colour palette was dominated mostly by pastels but did feature some metallics as well; like the gold skirt paired with a T shirt that had a tarot card printed on it. However it was reinterpreted by Designer Nicky Zimmermann so that it gives off both a modern yet vintage feel.

Y3 SPRING/SUMMER 2015 MEN'S COLLECTION

Yohji Yamamoto serving a collection where downtown cyber grunge meets beach side surfer dude. Flower motifs incorporated into suits gave it a very casual yet chic look whereas grey jackets and loose pants made of what appears to be neoprene paired with leather jackets with vitamin green accents still helped the collection stay true to it's sporty DNA. And might I add that the shoes looked so epic both with sporty and floral elements to it. A collection that was truly chic and simple yet packed a punch.
