MARTIN MARGIELA + H&M (LOONG OVERDUE POST)

Unlike in my previous posts, I'm not gonna bring up some excuse to explain why I'm posting so late, so I'll just get to the point. Now as you all may know, Martin Margiela was all set to collaborate with H&M. But then the days went by and the days turned into weeks and the weeks turned into months. I had given hope by mid August when suddenly, a few days ago, when I was browsing through a few blogs, I cam across a post with the title 'MARTIN MARGIELA FOR H&M LINE FINALLY OUT.' 

My boring and dreadful day had suddenly turned into sunshine and rainbows. Okay, maybe that didn't happen, but hot damn girl, I was excited! As for the clothes, It was pure Margiela. Nothing more. Nothing less. However, since it was for H&M they did stick to the idea of the clothes being wearable, but it still had that element of uniqueness, which is what makes Margiela clothes stand out from the rest. And also, instead of describing each piece of clothing from the line like most fashion bloggers do, I'll just post the pictures and let you decide for yourself what kind of aura it gives off.

LANVIN FALL/WINTER 2012 AD CAMPAIGN

Have you guys already seen this, or are you impatiently waiting with drool coming out of your mouths as you read this? That's right, Lanvin has yet again released another stunning ad campaign. This time for its 2012 Fall/Winter collection (In case you already didn't know that from the title). Alber Elbaz always manages to give the clothes and touch of uniqueness and frailty. And what I really liked about this video is that it also has an elderly lady featured in it. Her you go, Enjoy!

DAKS SPRING/SUMMER 2013 MEN'S COLLECTION

For it's latest SS collection, the house of Daks envisioned a man from the early 18th century London streets being zapped into the the somewhat modern future. So what is that one would see? A fine young dandy prancing through the streets of modern England with an impressed look on his face. 

The two main things that I REALLY liked about this collection are: 1. Even though they borrowed a few elements from the earlier times, they haven't been staying on memory lane for too long, in fact, I like how they've given the collection a modern twist with the thick rimmed glasses and deep V-neck sweaters. 2. They've done something quite incredible with pairing the iconic English gentleman's wardrobe staples - the top hat and the cummerbund with checked shorts and modern day cardigans to give it a bit of an edginess. 

Varied sizes of plaid were seen through out the show and the bright citrus orange trench coats really perked and livened it up. Yet another great presentation by Daks and it's team.
